Thermal Baths of Thermopyles

Opposite the statue of Leonidas, there is a waterfall of warm (almost hot, as the temperature at which the springs reaches 40 degrees Celsius) thermal water. The waters at the waterfall are forming a "bathtub" in which you can even swim, and then they reach the sea.

According to mythology, Hephaestus, after a request of the goddess, Athena created these springs for Hercules, to wash and recover his forces, after his labors. The baths are indicated for diseases of the joints and the spinal column, dermatitis, respiratory, gynecological diseases, rheumatism, arthritis, phlebitis, hemorrhoids etc.
